Ferromanganese

Ferromanganese is a ferroalloy composed of manganese and iron. It is divided into high carbon ferromanganese (C ≤ 2-8), medium carbon ferromanganese (C ≤ 0.7-2), low carbon ferromanganese (C ≤ 0.7-0.15%) and micro carbon ferromanganese (C ≤ 0.15%).

Commonly used are metal manganese, silicon manganese alloy, etc.

Ferromanganese as deoxidizer and alloying element additive in steelmaking can enhance the hardness, ductility, toughness and wear resistance of steel. It is widely used in structural steel, tool steel, stainless heat-resistant steel, wear-resistant steel and other alloy steel. Manganese also has the harmful effects of desulfurization and sulfur reduction.
